DatabaseThe database of Berlinische Monatsschrift holds the bibliographical data of 2.574 articles published from 1783 to 1811 in this periodical.
Search FieldsThe search form on the left allows you to access the contents of the
database using the search fields described in these search tips. You can,
but do not have to, enter text into all fields. If you use more than one
field, your entries will be interpreted as connected using the preselected
operator from the menu "Boolean operator".
Example: You entered "aufklärung"
in the search field "Keyword" and hit the
"Search" button. You'll get a table of articles that contain
these keywords within the bibliographical data
set. You get the full bibliographical data by clicking on the hyperlinks
within this table (the names of the article authors). From there you will
have the option of displaying the article in full text ("Artikel im
Volltext").
Example: You are searching for: Aberglauben und Aufklärung
Possible search entries: Aberglauben Aufklärung or Aufklärung Aberglauben. The boolean "and" operator will be working automatically. If you need another boolean operator, you should add it manually.
Example: Maurerode 1783.
If you've entered Maurerode
siebzehnhundertdreiundachtzig,
you won't get this
title.
It is therefore advisable in those cases to search using
the following search request: Maurerode (1783 or
siebzehnhundertdreiundachtzig).
That way you will get
titles containing 1783 or siebzehnhundertdreiundachtzig.

Search ResultsSearch results are given as a selection list of abbreviated bibliographical records. Hyperlinks lead to the full bibliographical data. Navigational Icons help you select between the different formats.
The selection list gives you a number of articles chosen in the drop-down menu "documents per page" (default value is 20). The display of selection lists gives you result item no., first author of the article, and article title.
The full bibliographical record gives you complete, quotable
bibliographical data from the "Index deutschsprachiger Zeitschriften".
"Artikel im Volltext" loads the full text representation of
the article into the frame on the right hand side of your screen.
