Printing in the Library

Print jobs can be sent from every internet PC and from the HRZ-PCs in the library and even from your private laptop. Printing is possible at any of the provided copy machines equipped with a card reading device. Analogous to the payment of your photocopies and scans, the amounts due for the printouts are debited to your "Service-Card" or your temporary Service Center card. Printing and copying prices are identical.

The "Service-Card" can be purchased at the "Studentenwerk" booth in the hall (Mon - Fri, 9:30 - 14:00 hrs; during the semester break Mon - Fri, 11:15 - 14:30 hrs). You can top-up your card there or at the cash desks in the cafeteria or the Westend restaurant.

Temporary Service Center cards can be purchased at the "Canon uniService - Service Center Druck & Kopie" (office room U1-132, hours: Mon - Fri, 9:00 - 17:00 hrs) and from the vending machines in the foyers of the Law (U1) and the Linguistics/Literary Studies library (C1).

It is necessary to register your card initially at a card reading device of a copier, before you can start using it for printing.

First press the right mouse button on blank space within the page you want to print. The context-sensitive menu will pop up.

If you see the option "Aktueller Frame", click on it and choose the option "Nur diesen Frame anzeigen". If you don't see "Aktueller Frame", just close the context-sensitive menu.

Before you start printing, it's a good idea to check the print result. Click "Datei" in the browser menu bar and then "Druckvorschau".

Should the text not fit breadthwise onto the print-out, you can choose "Querformat" when you adjust the printing option later on in the process.
If, on the contrary, the font is too small, click "Seite einrichten" and untick the option "Auf Seitengröße verkleinern" (fit to page size). At last click "OK" and check the result anew.
