Storage options for equipment on campus

Bielefeld University
© ZAB - Bielefeld University

Many students with disabilities or chronic illnesses have extensive aids and equipment with them during their everyday studies that need to be stowed away or need a place to store their learning materials due to their disability. In order to fulfil this need, the ZAB provides students with a total of 20 lockers on campus for use each semester. 10 lockers are located in the UHG and 10 in the X building.

Registration as a user

Students with disabilities, chronic or mental illnesses who would like to use one of the lockers should contact zab@uni-bielefeld.de to clarify their authorisation to use the locker.

Once authorisation to use the locker has been confirmed, students sign a user agreement and receive approval for the locker in question against a deposit.

Utilisation regulations

Students can use a locker for the project duration of one semester. If there is sufficient capacity, the period of use can be extended.

It is not permitted to pass on approval for the locker or to use the locker for any other purpose. The lockers are used exclusively to fulfil disability-related storage requirements in everyday student life.

On the last day of the semester, all lockers are emptied by facilities management.

There is a limited contingent of lockers. Students have no legal claim to the provision of a locker.

The ZAB accepts no liability for items stored in the locker.
