Library Service Center (BDZ)

The Library Service Center (BDZ) provides interdisciplinary information, training and advice on library use (such as digital services, inter-library loan and document delivery, loan account and library card). To contact the BDZ, you can go to the Reference Desk (Unit U0) or the Central Lending Desk (Unit U1) in the library.

The Central Lending Desk is responsible for:

User Administration

  • Issuing UniCards (library cards) for external users
  • Help with login problems in the loan account for external users
  • Locking of the UniCard in case of loss / lifting of user locks

Interlibrary Loan

  • Pick up of media ordered via interlibrary loan
  • Return of borrowed media
  • Consultation / complaints about interlibrary loans
  • Foreign orders
  • Special cases

Fee Administration

  • Collection of overdue fees and interlibrary loan charges
  • Recording of reports on book loss / book damage (also possible online) and subsequent further processing

Administration of the bag and suitcase lockers

  • Acceptance of reports of lost keys and subsequent further processing
