The Faculty of Technology offers innovative courses of study that are characterized by the combination of research-oriented specialized subject studies and the conveyance of key professional qualifications.
The Molecular Biotechnology course imparts the knowledge and methods necessary to understand modern drug research and biotechnic processes. Here, a consecutive master program enables seamless continuation.
In the field of computer science, interdisciplinary study programs result from combining the major subject Informatics with minor subjects, whereby three combinations bundle competencies in a special way in the directions
(a) bioinformatics and genomics research,
(b) cognitive informatics and
(c) Informatics in the Natural Sciences.
In these profiles, practical knowledge and methods of computer science are closely interlinked.
In the master's training, the Faculty of Technology offers direct continuation lines of the above-mentioned combined Bachelor, which is also partly offered as international courses of study. In addition, the Faculty of Technology offers a Master's degree in BioMechatronics, which is offered together with the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, as well as the Master Data Science offered together with the Faculty of Economics.
Currently approx. 1400 students are enrolled at the faculty.
In addition, the faculty offers different programs for obtaining the doctoral degrees Dr. rer. nat. and Dr.-Ing. after graduation.
