Decentralized desktop management

BITS provides decentralized faculty and department IT supervisors with a desktop management platform for managing the IT workstations they supervise. The management tool includes the following functionalities:

  • Software distribution
  • Patch management
  • Remote control

Scope of services

Provision and basic instruction of the Ivanti management suite and software packages from the BITS standard portfolio.

Requirements

Target group

  • Faculties and departments of Bielefeld University

Request

A request for the service can be made through the decentralized EDP supervisor.

Costs

Free service for all faculty and departments as part of basic services.

Costs may apply for customization.

Deployment times

Technical provision 6-8 weeks, basic briefing 1x per semester (as required).

Duty to cooperate

  • Licensing of the application software by the faculty/department
  • Windows clients in university-wide AD
  • Standard hardware (according to framework agreement)
