The address book of Bielefeld University lists the name and e-mail address of university members. The address book entry is generated when an e-mail account is activated or set up.

In Thunderbird, you can search for staff, people in the address book and use their e-mail address as the recipient. To do this, Thunderbird must integrate the address book with the following person-specific information:

Name:
-> freely selectable

Server address:
-> caldav.uni-bielefeld.de

Base DN:
-> ou=people

Port number:
-> 636

Bind-DN:
-> Personal university e-mail address

Check the box "Use encrypted connection (SSL)".

Confirm with OK.

Use address book when addressing new messages

Address Book > Tools > Settings > Compose > Addressing > LDAP Directory Server:
Select the previously created directory there.
