Moodle for courses

Moodle is a central learning platform of Bielefeld University. Moodle is an installation of the globally distributed learning platform software of the same name that is operated at the university. It offers many functions and can be used very flexibly for different teaching/learning scenarios.


Scope of services

Moodle courses for courses can be created or linked from a course's learning space.

Features:
Different course formats, customizable permissions/role system, notifications, drag-and-drop editing mode and file upload, accessibility checking tools, different material types for teaching/learning content, many different activities: Polling, assignments, surveys, chat, database, feedback, progress lists, forum, peer review, glossary, group voting, journal (learning diary), lesson (step-by-step teaching material), integration of learning packages, scheduler, tests/quizzes, surveys, wiki, etherpad

Options

As an alternative to creating a new Moodle course, existing Moodle courses can also be linked in a learning space.

When the learning space is not in use, teaching staff, instructors, lectures can set up an automatic forwarding function that forwards participants directly to a Moodle course when they access it.

Requirements

A learning space must exist for the desired course, through which Moodle courses can be created or existing Moodle courses can be linked.

Target group

  • Students
  • Employees (teaching staff, instructors, lectures)

Access

  • Approval is done via the learning room of a course or directly via Moodle(https://moodle.uni-bielefeld.de).

  • Login is done via "registration with university access" using the DFN-AAI service of the German research network. After selecting "Bielefeld University", the login for all members of the university is done via web authentication with Shibboleth.

  • Members of other Universities participating in the DFN-AAI service can also log in to Moodle, but they have to be registered manually in courses.

Request

No application required.

Teaching staff, instructors, lectures can create Moodle courses for their courses via the learning space itself.
