Doctorate/Ph.D. Studies

The core of doctorate/Ph.D. studies is independent scientific work. Doctoral students thus contribute decisively to current research and are employed as academic co-workers at the university temporarily for the project duration of the doctoral thesis. The doctorate/Ph.D. studies are therefore not to be regarded as a degree program but as the first step in professional life. In addition, there is the possibility to participate in colloquia, scientific seminars, or lectures. Current news about the Research Training Group can be found here.

Doctorate/Ph.D. studies in Bielefeld are characterized by a very good supervision ratio. Vacancies can be found here, doctorate/Ph.D. studies through external scholarships are also very welcome. If you have any questions, please contact the professor of your preferred research focus directly (an overview of the research topics represented in Bielefeld can be found here).
