OpenMoodle for open educational content

For the provision and use of public educational content (e.g. OER - Open Educational Resources) and other content intended for the public, members of the University have access to the OpenMoodle platform.


Scope of services

OpenMoodle courses for the publication of content that is to be made available to the public or to external staff, people without a university or project connection can be requested from Support. If content is released to anonymous users (guest access), interactive content is usually not available.

Features:
Different course formats, customizable permissions/role system, notifications, drag-and-drop editing mode and file upload, accessibility checking tools, different material types for teaching/learning content, many different activities: Polling, assignments, surveys, chat, database, feedback, progress lists, forum, peer review, glossary, group voting, journal (learning diary), lesson (step-by-step teaching material), integration of learning packages, scheduler, tests/quizzes, surveys, wiki, etherpad

Moodle offers numerous configuration options for a wide range of formats and deployment scenarios. Feel free to contact us with your requirements and ideas.


Requirements

Target group

  • Employees (teaching staff, instructors, lectures)

Access

 

  • Approval is done directly via OpenMoodle(https://openmoodle.uni-bielefeld.de).
  • As with Moodle, members of Bielefeld University and other Universities participating in the DFN-AAI registration service can log in via "Registration with University Access".
  • External users can also create their own account with any email address to access the platform.
  • Individual content can also be released for guest access, for which no registration is required.

Request

Request by email to til-team@uni-bielefeld.de.

Details:

  • Purpose (e.g., OER, project).
  • Responsible contact person(s)
  • Title of the course room
  • Expected duration of use
  • Desired approval (e.g. self-registration with/without password, open for guest access)

Deployment times

After creation by support staff (usually within 1-2 working days).
